Name of Module: Basic Clinical Nursing

This module consists of the following Sub- Enabling Outcomes:

3.4.4 Provide care to patient with fluid and electrolyte imbalance using knowledge of biochemistry.

3.6.2 Provide care to patient with hygienic needs using nursing process.

3.6.3 provide care to patient with elimination needs using nursing process.

• 3.6.4 Provide care to patients with nutritional needs using knowledge and skills of nutrition.

• 3.6.5 Provide care to patient with pain, wound and limited mobility using nursing proces

• This module will be facilitated through lecture discussion, presentation and group discussion, practice in skills laboratory, assignment, demonstration and clinical practice.

Assessment methods

• The continuous assessment shall contribute 40% of the total module weight.

• The semester examination shall contribute 60% of the total weight of the module.

• There shall be four (4) components of continuous assessments, namely;

o Written tests shall contribute 15% of the CA weight

o Practical examination (OSCE/OSPE) shall contribute 15% of the CA weight,

o Assignment guide shall contribute 05% of the CA weight.

o Procedure book shall contribute 05% of the CA weight.

• There shall be two (2) components of Semester examination;

o Written examination which shall contribute 25% of the SE weight

o Clinical examination which shall contribute 35% of the SE weight
